Aplington-Parkersburg High School
An EF5 tornado ripped through the town of Parkersburg on May 25, 2008. The devastation the tornado left in its wake was incredible and included in that destruction was the main high school. LCCI was selected by the school district as the Construction Manager for the rebuilding process. The schematic design, design development and final working drawings on the new high school were completed in a matter of a few months. Construction started in September of 2008 with the completion of the first phase that housed classrooms and offices for students and staff was done in August 2009. The second phase that housed the schools secondary functions, including the gym and auditorium, was completed in November of 2009. This project was fast-tracked and schedule driven as there was no other option. It was completed on time and in just 14 months from start of design to students walking through the door.
