The Waterloo Career Center was a $17.5 million dollar addition and renovation to half of the Waterloo Central Middle School.  This state-of-the-art facility was the first of its kind in Iowa and provides high school students with opportunities to explore future careers and get real life, hands-on experiences in various fields, such as computer networking, manufacturing, culinary, IT programs, sustainable construction, electrical, and plumbing, to name a few.  At the ribbon cutting ceremony in October of 2019, the excitement from the community and the whole state was evident with Mayor Hart, Governor Reynolds, Senators Grassley and Ernst, and many others attending and speaking at the event.
